"All Shook Up"

It was March 27, 1964. It was about 5:32 when all of a sudden there was a rumble. We were watching TV and all of a sudden the TV clicked off. The electricity went off. It was an earthquake! At first I thought it was a little tremor like we always had. But then it started groaning and twisting. I saw a lamp fall down. I also saw people screaming and panicking. All of our dinner was on the table. My dad was holding cupboards shut. Boy was I scared. After it was all over, our food was on the table except the biscuits. After dinner we cleaned up the house, and boy was I glad it was over.
